Hassan Latif is the founder and former executive director of the nationally recognized Second Chance Center. The Aurora-based nonprofit serves people returning from incarceration and provides support for a successful transition into the community.
With lived experience in the criminal justice system, Hassan authored “Never Going Back: 7 Steps to Staying Out of Prison” and the eponymous curriculum that serves as a survival guide. He also conducts mentoring and reentry training for government and service providers and facilitates transition planning sessions in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
A certified addiction specialist, Hassan holds several other certifications and serves on numerous local, regional and state boards and committees, including the Mental Health Disorders in the Criminal Justice System Task Force, and Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition.
In 2020, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce recognized Hassan as Humanitarian of the Year.
